Dr. Rene Perez attended the University of Baylor in Waco, TX and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and minored in Biology & Environmental Studies in 1999. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2003. He then attended residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at University Hospital in San Antonio and completed his training in June 2007. He is an active member of Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is a full scope OB/GYN doctor with the distinction of training in the ACESSA procedure and is a robotically trained surgeon. Dr. Perez is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is Board Certified in his field of medicine.
Jenna Nicole Banner MD is a practicing Obstetrician and Gynecologist in San Antonio, Tx. Dr. Banner attended the University of Texas in Austin graduating with Honors-Summa Cum Laude in 2008. She went on to attend the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine in San Antonio, Tx. graduating at the top of her class in 2012. Dr. Banner successfully completed the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency program in 2016 at University Hospital in San Antonio. She is a full scope OB/GYN doctor who is robotically trained for minimally invasive surgical procedures. In her spare time Dr. Banner enjoys her time with her two boys, traveling and outdoor sports and activities. Dr. Banner is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is Board Certified in her field of medicine.
Dr. Ahn was born in San Francisco, California but raised most of her childhood in “The Valley” (McAllen, Texas). She received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio in 2005. She was involved in research at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in the Infectious Disease Department for four years during that time. She subsequently earned a Master of Science in Interdepartmental Medical Science at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. She then went on to earn her Doctorate of Medicine from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock, TX. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Her clinical interests include pelvic floor reconstruction and minimally invasive robotic surgery. Dr. Ahn is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is Board Certified in her field of medicine.
Dr. Gonzales was born and raised in Houston, TX. For Undergraduate, she attended Texas A&M University at Galveston and graduated with honors in 2008, earning her Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology. She worked as a Neuropsychology technician in Houston for 2 years before attending Medical School at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock, TX. She Graduated in 2015, earning her Doctorate of Medicine. Dr. Gonzales then went on to complete her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas. Clinically, she is especially interested in minimally invasive robotic surgical techniques. Her hobbies include hiking, watching documentaries, and spending time with her husband and cat. Dr. Gonzales is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is Board Certified in her field of medicine.
Dr. Simien was born and raised in the inner cities of Los Angeles, California. He attended Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Missouri and obtained his Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. He received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University. Subsequently, he attended residency at Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his training in June 2021. During his training, Dr. Simien was awarded and ranked highly as “Top Teaching Resident” in the class of 2021 and “Best Laparoscopic Resident Surgeon”. Dr. Simien’s clinical interest include minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery, osteopathic manipulation, transgender care and infertility. Dr. Simien is married with three children and when he is not seeing patients, he enjoys all sports entertainment, food and spending time with family.
Dr. Jajal was born in San Jose, California, but raised near Austin, Texas. She graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience and a minor in gender studies. She received her medical degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. During her time in residency, she won awards related to research and teaching of medical students. Her clinical interests include minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, provision of gender-affirming care, complex contraceptive care, and adolescent care. She is passionate about empowering her patients and helping them achieve their healthcare goals. Outside of medicine, she enjoys cooking, reading, learning new languages, and hanging out with her dog, Lily. Dr. Jajal is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is Board Certified in her field of medicine.
Carla is a nationally certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. She began her career as a registered nurse in California in 1999. She went on to train as a labor and delivery nurse and completed five years at the labor and delivery department . Carla went on to complete her training as an Advanced Women's Health Nurse Practitioner in 2005. She has successfully completed her MSN degree and has been certified in colposcopy (procedure for treatment of abnormal pap smear). She is dedicated to continuing to advance her knowledge and providing exceptional patient care. She has been an integral part of our team since 2010.
Ginger earned her RN degree from Baptist Health System School of Health Professions in 2004 and started working in Labor and Delivery immediately after graduation. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012 from the University of Texas at Arlington. Her seventeen years of caring for mothers and babies in the L&D hospital setting led her to choose a career as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. She earned her Master of Science in Nurse Midwifery at Texas Tech University at Lubbock and became a Board-Certified Nurse Midwife in 2021. She joined Alamo Women's OBGYN/Boerne OBGYN in November 2021. Her practice philosophy is to support women throughout their lifetime while also teaching them how to better understand their bodies. She and her husband have three children and live in Marion, TX. Since she was born and raised in and around the San Antonio area, she has strong ties to the city and surrounding areas. When not working, she enjoys attending her children’s sporting events, going to live music concerts, and cheering on her favorite baseball team.
Amanda is a Board Certified Nurse Midwife. She earned her undergraduate nursing degree from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN in 2011. Following that she commissioned into the U.S. Navy where she worked as a labor and delivery nurse. During her time on active duty, she attended Midwifery school at Frontier Nursing University and completed her Master of Science in Nurse Midwifery in 2018. Upon her completion of active duty, she and her family moved to San Antonio, she then joined Alamo Women’s in August 2022. Amanda loves working with women of all ages and has a special interest in pregnancy related care and educating women regarding their individual needs. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys being with her family and exploring San Antonio and surrounding areas.
